The GMP+ Feed Safety Management System to which TRM has been certified since 2020 is one of four international feed safety standards, the others being FEMAS, UFAS and FAMI-QS.  Over the years, GMP+ certified companies have built solid reputations for reliability in the feed industry.  The mission of the GMP+ certification scheme is safe and responsible feed (and therefore safe food) worldwide.

TRM have three main groups of products i.e. equine, pet and livestock with the latter range targeting animals that enter (or whose products enter) the food chain.  As TRM holds GMP+ certification (i.e. is certified for the production of feed for food-producing animals), that certification also covers products for pets.  The manufacture of products for pets follows the same procedures and controls as those used for all other TRM products.

There are a number of key elements within the GMP+ Feed Safety Management System in TRM including the following (1) GMP, Good Manufacturing Practices to prevent possible hazards occurring during daily operations (2) prerequisite programs as defined by the GMP+ standard which must be implemented before production starts (3) a HACCP program in order to identity and control feed safety risks and (4) a comprehensive documented management system which again has been developed in line with the GMP+ standard.
